Manchester City stepped up the title race with their impressive win over the Magpies.

The game was on its heels in the first twenty minutes. There were chances for both teams.

Moreover, it could have been an advantage for Newcastle if Chris Wood could have converted the easy chance that fell to him.

However, City turned up the heat with Raheem Sterling breaking the deadlock within twenty minutes.

A mistake from the Magpies’ goalkeeper led to City doubling their lead in the first half.

The city started dominating play in the second half. Rodri extended the lead by scoring the third goal of the match.

Phil Foden and Sterling completed the route to ensure the three points for City.
