Here we have with us the Manchester City player ratings in an impressive win over Newcastle United. City are on top of the Premier League, 3 points above Liverpool. Whereas, Newcastle are struggling to get out of the relegation zone. This win let Manchester City extend their lead at the top by 3 points as Liverpool dropped points over the weekend.

City took the lead in just the 5th minute as both Clark and Dubravka failed to clear the ball and Ruben Dias pounced on that opportunity to score. The Citizens doubled their lead in the 27th minute with an absolute stunner from Joao Cancelo. He skipped past a few Newcastle players and then hit it in the top left corner from outside the box to score a wonderful goal.

In the 64th minute, Oleksandr Zinchenko put in a pinpoint cross towards Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian took it first time to put the ball behind the net and score his 50th goal for City. For the 4th goal, Gabriel Jesus dribbled past Murphy before finding Sterling on the far post who scored a tap-in in the 86th minute.

This can prove to be a huge win for City as it has extended their lead at the top but still bad news for Newcastle. The Magpies are still struggling to get out of the relegation zone even after a new management appointment. Moreover, Manchester City also broke the record for most away league wins in a single calendar year (18).
