Manchester City vs Liverpool: Match Preview, Team News, and Prediction

David Silva

Liverpool will be traveling to Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in a blockbuster Premier League clash on Saturday.

Manchester City are eight points behind the league leaders Arsenal, with a match in hand. City cannot afford to slip up further to keep their title hope alive.

The two teams met last time in Carabao Cup where Guardiola’s side earned a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Reds. Erling Haaland, Riyad Mahrez, and Nathan Ake scored the goals for City.

On the other hand, Liverpool finds themselves sitting in the sixth spot in the Premier League table. However, they have the great opportunity to do a league double over Manchester City as they won the reverse fixture at Anfield.

The Reds are knocked out of the Champions League for this term and will be hoping to qualify for the competition next season. A win against City could cut down the deficit to three points with fifth-placed Newcastle United.
