Manchester United have reportedly won the race for Lisandro Martinez. The Ajax defender is set to move to Old Trafford in the near future. However, the deal is yet to be fully agreed.
The 24-year-old future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks. Arsenal and Manchester United are keen to bring him to the Premier League this summer.

According to a recent report, Red Devils boss Erik Ten Hag is confident of reuniting with the Argentina international. He is confident of convincing him to snub the Gunners to move to Old Trafford. However, the report also states that the final paperwork is yet to be done. Although, it looks like United are closing in on the center-back’s signature.
The report claims that a switch to Manchester is only a matter of time. He is reportedly set to follow Tyrell Malacia in making the move to the club this summer. Although, he is not the only one. Christian Eriksen is going to sign for Manchester United. The midfielder is going to have his medical in the upcoming days.

Dutch journalist Marcel Van der Kraan said. “Martinez is very high on Erik ten Hag’s wishlist, so I expect big developments in the 24 or 48 hours,”. “Martinez will also have his hopes pinned on United, who are an absolute top club for him.
Ajax are reportedly demanding a fee of £50 million for the defender. However, the player has requested the Dutch giants to demand a realistic fee. The defender wants to move to United. Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, and Lindelof are all expected to stay at the club. However, Eric Baily, Phil Jones, and Axel Tuanzebe are looking to leave before the end of the transfer window.
Martinez can play left-back and holding midfielder also. However, United sees him as a center-back. He has made 120 appearances in all competitions for Ajax since arriving in 2019. He helped the club win back-to-back league titles and KNVB Cup in 2021. Manchester United are going to travel to Thailand on Friday for the pre-season tour.
