Manchester United desperately need to fix their defensive line. Therefore, they were heavily linked with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.

According to Christian Falk and Patrick Berger, United had offered the star defender a sumptuous deal of 10 million euros per season which meant £160,000 per week. However, the German possibly did not agree to the deal.

It has been known that the 29-year-old German defender has rejected the Manchester club out of respect for his club Chelsea. Moreover, he has rejected to play for any other Premier League club after he leaves Chelsea.

Moreover, the famous journalists have made known that Rudiger has agreed to a deal to move to Real Madrid next summer, on a free transfer.

He has been one of the best center-backs in the Premier League this season. Moreover, he has been scoring important goals for the Blues, all season.

He has stood like a wall in the backline, making it impossible for the best of players to dribble past him. Meanwhile, of the 47 appearances he has made for the club, he has helped Chelsea to keep 22 clean sheets.

Who is Manchester United going to sign for setting up their defense next season?

Manchester United have had a horrendous season and their defensive line have come under attack for each of their loss. Meanwhile, they have been able to keep only 9 clean sheets across all competitions. Their most expensive defender has failed repeatedly and has not been able to provide the crucial balance to the defense that he was expected to provide.

Now, with Erik Ten Hag becoming the new boss, talks have been going on to sign Ajax’s talented defender Jurrien Timber.

Moreover, Timber has enjoyed a good season under Ten Hag and he also has a good connection with the Dutchman.

Ten Hag has been very important to me personally. Under him, I became the footballer, the man I am today. The coach talked to me a lot. He’s been very critical, in a good, constructive way. I won’t forget it any time soon”- he said.
