The agent of Matthijs De Ligt has reportedly halted talks with Chelsea amid Bayern interest. He wants to force through a move for his client to join Bayern Munich.
The 22-year-old’s future in Turin is believed to be uncertain. Chelsea have identified him as one of their primary targets. They are looking to replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who have left the club on free transfers.

The Blues are set to face stern competition from current Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for the defender. However, the sporting director of Bayern already has had a three-hour conversation with the Juventus chief regarding the availability of De Ligt. The report also adds that Matthijs De Ligt representatives have stopped talks with Chelsea and other interested clubs for the Bayern move.
Matthijs De Ligt is hoping to agree terms with Bayern on a deal worth around £64m. The player is also keen on the move. He favors their attacking style of football than other interested teams in Europe. However, Juventus are hoping for a fee of around £80m. Although, the favorites in the deal are Bayern Munich. Matthijs De Ligt has only two years left on his Juventus contract and he has already rejected contract extensions.

Chelsea are certainly not short of options. The Blues could now turn their attention to other defensive targets. It includes Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde of Manchester City and Sevilla respectively. However, they are currently focusing on completing the signing of Raheem Sterling. The deal is near completion. Todd Boehly, the Chelsea owner is currently negotiating transfers in the summer window.
