Mauricio Pochettino discusses whether Christopher Nkunku will debut for Chelsea tomorrow.

Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has now stated he thinks Christopher Nkunku will be able to make his Blues debut on tomorrow night.

At the pre-game press conference, he asserted that the Frenchman had trained exceptionally well today and might now play in the EFL Cup tomorrow. Pochettino is aiming for his first trophy in England as the Blues get ready for tomorrow night’s cup quarterfinals.

Just a few weeks after they were humiliated in the Premier League by the same opponents, they will play Newcastle United. The Blues have been severely impacted by injuries this season; in fact, their misfortune dates back to the preseason.

Before being forced to leave the final preseason game against Borussia Dortmund due to an injury, Nkunku was having a great time touring the United States.

Nkunku may play tomorrow

As we approach the final two games before Christmas, the 26-year-old has not been seen yet in a competitive appearance.

Everyone at Stamford Bridge was excited to see what Nkunku could do. When he was named to the bench against Sheffield United over the weekend.

Nevertheless, the Blues were able to rely less on his substitutions in the second half thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer.

It has now been revealed by Pochettino whether he believes the player will play tomorrow night.

“Lavia, still no,” he said. Nkunku did a great job of training today. We might be able to see him participate.

How I see today, I think he could play 20 minutes. I need to be 100%. To see Nkunku in the warmup and part of the team, that was amazing. But 1% in the back of my mind I didn’t know if this was right moment [against Sheffield United].”

Playing their best team at Stamford Bridge would be advised. As the EFL Cup offers the Blues the clearest opportunity to win a trophy this season.
