Mercedes has a “good platform to start from” believes Lewis Hamilton

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton will be driving the eleventh season for the Silver Arrows in 2023.

The 2022 season was a disaster for the Mercedes side. The side lost the chance to win the ninth constructor title in a row. Further, the season was much worse for Lewis Hamilton.

For the first time in his career, the seven-time world champion went winless. Further, to add to the frustration, Hamilton finished behind his teammate Russell in 2022.

Mercedes has come to the 2023 season with their brand new challenger – the W14.

The car is expected to be better than last year. Further, it also seems that the side has tackled the porpoising problem completely now.

Regardless, Hamilton has provided his feeling on the car after the pre-season testing ended in Bahrain:

Hamilton said: “It’s been an interesting few days. It’s never easy, it’s been a lot of discovery. I think the thing that I’ve been most impressed with is that this is my 11th year with the team, and everyone has shown up with the same mentality, working hard, no one has been complacent.

“We realise that we have a mountain to climb, and no one’s fussed. Everyone has just kept their heads down, so really proud of that, everyone in the garage, everyone back here and I know everyone back at the factory will be churning through all this data and pushing on.”

“Reliability has generally been good. Obviously, we had a stop [on Friday], but generally it has been good. At the end there it’s always nice when the track gets a bit cooler, when you put on the soft tyre, and see the steps between them all. We are not quite where we want to be, but it’s a good platform to start from,” Hamilton added.

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes will be hoping their best for the 2023 season to be thiers.
