Lionel Messi held a press conference announcing his tearful departure from his boyhood club. Meanwhile, the greatest of all time Messi is without a club and PSG wants to bring him to PSG.

Lionel Messi has received a formal two-year contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain. The French Giants want to reunite the old friends Messi and Neymar. PSG believes that £25m a year would be enough to seal the deal.

Barcelona also announced that Messi cannot continue at the club because of financial constraints and La Liga guidelines. Meanwhile, Argentina international has spoken directly with PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino this week about moving to the French capital.

On Sunday night, dozens of PSG diehards gathered at the gates of Le Bourget airport in the hope of catching a glimpse of Lionel Messi. But their hopes went in vain as he is still in Barcelona.

How will PSG signing Messi affect Ligue 1?

Since PSG looks like the most likely destination for Messi this would affect the league too. Although his signing could be a nightmare for the other clubs it will affect this Ligue 1 in a positive manner.

This move will have a similar effect to Ronaldo’s move. When Ronaldo arrived at Juventus the shirt sales boomed like crazy. Moreover talking about India when Ronaldo moved to Itlay La Liga lost its broadcasting to Serie A. Maybe this move would result somewhat in the same manner and Ligue 1 will get great exposure from India.

In addition, Messi will form a superstar attacking force alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at PSG. Messi will also reunite with his Argentina teammates Ángel Di María and Leandro Paredes. Moreover will reunite with the PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino.

This summer, PSG have already added Sergio Ramos from Real Madrid, where he won four Champions League and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
