Milner hails his former Liverpool team-mate as “unbelievable”

James Milner hails his former Liverpool teammate Roberto Firmino and suggested he was “unbelievable” to play alongside at Mersyside.

Speaking on Premier League’s YouTube Channel, Milner was asked to name the player he has played the most matches with during his illustrious career. His answer was Roberto Firmino as the Brazilian forward was just breathtaking during his spell at Liverpool.

Firmino scored 111 goals and provided 79 assists in 362 outings across all competitions. Alongside Milner, he won the Champions League and Premier League under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

However, Milner joined Brighton & Hove Albion and Firmino joined Saudi club Al-Ahli Saudi FC in the summer transfer window. The Brazillian formed one of the deadliest front trio with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at Liverpool.

Milner suggests Firmino is “underrated”

James Milner guessed it right as it was Roberto Firmino who he had played the most games during his career till date. However, he also suggests that Bobby is quite underrated as he doesn’t get the full credit he deserves.

While discussing about Firmino, Milner said :-

“Yeah Bobby was incredible. As a guy, super chilled, super nice. Just nodded, smiled. I think that was him understanding my accent some of the time. But he never questioned it if he didn’t understand. But great guy to have around the place.

“As a player with the ball, receiving it in tight spaces, unbelievable touch in tight areas. He scored big goals. Without the ball, incredible as well. Used to win the ball back for us so many times. Would start the press, work so hard. He’s one of those players I think that unless you watched him every week or played with him, I don’t think you realise how good he is. He’s incredible.”
