Nottingham Forest interested in signing Wolves striker

Nottingham Forest are intensifying their interest in Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis. Forest are desperate to shore up their attack this summer to survive in the Premier League this season. Watford values their player at £20 million. However, Forest are not interested in a permanent deal, they want a loan move for the player with an option to buy next summer.

West Ham had also expressed their interest in signing Dennis this summer. However, David Moyes cooled his interest in the player after an extensive background check, which determined him to not fit in the West Ham squad. However, this alerted Nottingham Forest to the availability of the player. Forest manager Cooper believes that the versatile attacker can fill any position in the attack.

Dennis joined Watford from Club Brugge in the 2021 season. He arrived at Watford on a five-year-long deal. Dennis scored on his debut for Watford against Aston Villa. He scored a goal and had two further assists in the 4-1 thrashing of Manchester United. Last season he was dubbed as the “Nutmeg King” by StatsBomb. Moreover, his 16 goals contributions to a struggling Watford side, his rating of 6.2 successful duels, and 2.1 completed dribbles make him a player worth signing for Nottingham Forest. His £20 million price tag is a good price to pay considering how Forest are struggling for a striker.

Moreover, his performance last season against Aston Villa impressed Michael Owen immensely. He waxed lyrical about the player and commended Watford on such a great find. Forest are looking for a new striker in the squad. They have added Taiwo Awoniyi to their squad. Lewis Grabban has also departed the club this season and Forest are now left with two unproven strikers in the squad.

Moreover, they have also signed Jesse Lingard this season which means they have some creativity up at the front. They only lack the finishing skills to convert the creativity to goals. Signing Dennis will give Forest a good fighting chance to the recently promoted club
