Lucas Paqueta and his representatives are considering a legal action against FA for stalling his move to Man city over a prolonged investigation into alleged betting rule violations.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Man City since last summer. The West Ham midfielder has been a key player for the Hammers. Agreements for the Brazilian between Man City and the Hammers were made. However, the emergence of an FA investigation forced City’s hand to withdraw.
Man City then went on to sign Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers. But, Paqueta’s representatives have been unhappy with off-the field issues. They believe that delays in FA’s investigation might end up costing their client big-time.
FA to be slammed with a case of ‘Potential Loss of Earnings’
The FA might find themselves in a complicated situation. They have a responsibility of thoroughly investigating any potential breaches of betting rules. But, at the same time they can’t keep delaying an investigation and hinder with a player’s career.
The FA are yet to comment on any specifics of the ongoing investigations.
Paqueta stalled by FA: Man City to look for alternatives?
If the move is stalled untimely again, the Citizens won’t shy away from looking for other options. Especially, since their elimination from the Champions League at Etihad and Arsenal’s challenge at the summit.
Man City may opt for Paqueta’s Brazilian teammate Bruno Guimaraes as an alternative. The 26 year old midfielder has been instrumental in Newcastle’s midfield.
A rather ambitious and far sought move is Jamal Musiala from Bayern. The German international has impressed everyone with his quality on the ball and his ability to dribble past players.
