The former Arsenal player is known for his controversial opinions. So, we can expect him to make some unexpected predictions.

PAUL MERSON EXPECTS THE TOP 2 POSITIONS OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE TO REMAIN THE SAME

The Arsenal legend has backed Manchester City to win the League again next season. However, he also expects Liverpool to again challenge for the trophy. He expects City to claim a fourth League title from the past five seasons. He expects Pep Guardiola’s side to win the league despite the departure of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling. The pundit expects Liverpool to challenge for the trophy in a close race.

He said, ‘Erling Haaland’s arrival is obviously a massive boost for Pep Guardiola, but it’s not the end of it with Liverpool still very much in the running. With the departures of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, Manchester City have lost at least 30 Premier League goals between the pair and that could turn out to be a huge problem for them.“. However, Liverpool are expected to miss the goals of Sadio Mane in the race to win the trophy.

THE PUNDIT EXPECTS SOME CHANGES IN THE THIRD AND FOURTH POSITION

He says Chelsea could finish the third position again. However, they need to be consistent over the course of 38 games. He also says the arrival of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly has given them a massive lift. Although, he expects a dog fight for fourth place. He expects Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United to fight for fourth place. Although, he expects Manchester United to miss the fourth place in the league due to a lack of signings this summer and the Cristiano Ronaldo controversy.

The Arsenal legend has tipped the Gunners to finish fourth place. He said, “If I had to pick one of the two north London sides, I’ll have to go with Arsenal. Tottenham’s participation in the UEFA Champions League this season could be an issue for them, as they’ll have a bunch of tough mid-week games to cater to in between their Premier League commitments.

The pundit also adds that Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea will themselves as the top three easily. However, the real fight will be for fourth place. He further adds he will be surprised if anything else is to happen. However, the element of surprise will be always there in the Premier League.
