Paul Merson shares his concern ahead of the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool

Paul Merson shares his one “worry” regarding the clash between Manchester City and Liverpool. Merson was speaking ahead of the clash between City and Liverpool on Sports Keeda. He was sharing his predictions for the high-voltage clash at the Etihad stadium this weekend. Though, the Sky Sports pundit said even before his predictions that,

“What a game to start off the weekend, although we didn’t need this one to be an afternoon kick-off. I worry about it because it’s not exactly fair to all the players who were away on international duty.”

The former Arsenal star’s concern is worth a look though. The unusual timing of the clash makes it difficult for the players to have a proper rest after returning from the international break. Nevertheless, Merson believes that man City will edge over Klopp’s side with a 2-1 victory. He continued saying,

“If Haaland is fit, then I think City edge this. I think there will be goals in this one. Both managers play an attacking brand of football. However, it’s tough to go against City at home.

Liverpool have shown that they can be really shaky when they come back after the international break. I remember them getting blown away in the first half of that game against Wolverhampton Wanderers under similar circumstances.

Considering everything, I predict a narrow home win for Manchester City against their title rivals.”

Many pundits agree with predictions of Merson for Liverpool vs Man City

Though, many other pundits like Simon Jordan also backed Pep’s side to snatch all three points from the game. Roy Keane also believes that the Sky Blues will emerge victorious in the match even if Haaland is unable to feature due to a knee injury. Though, Liverpool are also in a red-hot form. Whatever be the outcome, the fans will surely be expecting a great game of football from both sides.
