Pep Guardiola have expressed his happiness about Manchester City‘s current form. Manchester City looks to be starting over after their bit of a wobble at the start of January. Furthermore, they have won all their recent outings. Pep Guardiola have commented on this recent performance as ‘happy flowers’. However many have deemed that rant as controversial at best. Manchester City was out of form in their first half against Tottenham Hotspur. But they showed quality in the second half of the match. That performance was enough to get them a kickstart to their comeback. They now pose a threat to Arsenal. They are ready to challenge Arsenal for the Premier League title. However, Arsenal are still sitting at the top of the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola have commented on the current mood in the Manchester City dressing room
Pep Guardiola have commented on how the team have reacted after their underwhelming performances. Manchester City showed their personality in the match against Wolves. They dominated the match throughout and were clinical in their approach. Pep Guardiola commented after their win,
“I want a reaction for all the club, all the reaction. Not just players, staff and everyone. We are a happy flowers team.”
He further added,
“I don’t want to be happy flowers, I want to beat Arsenal. If we play in that way Arsenal will destroy us. I’m incredibly happy. But without change we aren’t going to win anything.”
Nathan Ake’s post-match comments would give some more hope to the manager. He would hope that the tide is turning in their favor. The player commented,
“He’s been in the game so long and seen everything. He’s been at top, top clubs and probably did it to wake us up. It was needed and hopefully we can keep it going now. We thought: ‘Okay, we have to improve.’ He’s been in the game so long, and seen everything, so he’s probably right and the only thing we can do as a team is fight back and show everyone and ourselves we still have that fight and hunger. Obviously he said it for a reason.”
Ake further added,
“Maybe it did dip a bit but over the last few games we have shown we want to try, we want to compete and we did that again here. We want to make sure we will keep fighting for everything. That’s the only thing we can do as a team and a club.”
Pep Guardiola would have been disappointed by those underwhelming performances by Manchester City. But they have picked themselves up and have turned the tides in their favor. They are now fully aware of what needs to be done to move forward.
