Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola shares the fresh injury update of Erling Haaland. Pep was speaking about Erling Haaland after his side defeated Luton 2-1 on Sunday. It was reported before the clash that the Norwegian international will be unavailable for the clash. The Premier League champions trailed during the first half but bounced back with two goals in the second half at Kenilworth Road.
Although City are not having the best of their starts to the campaign so far, it does not imply on Haaland. The juggernaut striker has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season. Moreover, we are not even in the second half of the season yet. Pep Guardiola now shares the fresh update on Haaland’s fitness saying,
“Stress [on the] bone. Stress. Just stress. Please don’t ask that his foot is broken. It’s just stress bone.
It’s not a fracture, just a stress on the bone, hopefully, [he] can be ready against Crystal Palace, if not, then Saudi Arabia [for the Club World Cup].
The day after Villa, he could almost not walk properly. Yesterday, I spoke to him saying, ‘I feel much better, I can walk, I have no pain’, that’s why we have to see how he is day by day. Week-by-week will dictate how he feels.”
These words from the Spanish coach will be a huge sigh of relief for the Cityzens. If the beast forward was to be sidelined for weeks, it could have been a pile of troubles for them. However, it is not the case and he can also feature against Crystal Palace next week. If City want to be a title threat, they must have their striker available for the upcoming fixtures in the second half of the season.
