Pep Lijnders shares how Liverpool are going to play in the absence of Trent Alexander Arnold. The English international sustained a ligament extension against Arsenal during FA Cup clash last week. This is a major blow for the Reds as Salah and Endo are already out for national duty. Moreover, Szoboszlai is also out due to injury. Now another injury is certainly a huge stab in the Liverpool squad. The full-back is expected to be out for three weeks meaning he will miss the clash against Fulham.

Finding a way to fulfill the shoes of Trent is going to be very difficult. He had eight goal contributions in the last 11 games. Consequently, he was a big reason for the stuff over the past few weeks. However, the assistant manager has assured fans that they will try to minimise the impact of absence of vice captain. As per Liverpool’s official YouTube channel, Lijnders said to Liverpool fand that,

“We have many weapons. Mo goes away, Jota steps up. If the best players aren’t there and we play well – like the second half v Arsenal – that is a good sign. We don’t rely on one or two, we are missing probably four or five in terms of Robbo, Trent, Mo.

Trent plays passes the forwards like and he knows how to decide games and knows where the put the balls but the squad has other qualities if you ask me. Alexis or Wataru in the No.6, we have to find different dynamics.”

Liverpool have had a lot of injuries this season. Despite the setbacks, the club is still in the hunt for all four trophies till now. Though, this cannot hide the fact that Arnold will be missed until his return. The staff will surely need to find an effective replacement until their marksman returns from his injury.
