Pochettino still impressed with Chelsea talent Nicolas Jackson

After yesterday’s victory against Luton Town, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino reaffirms his pride of the young Nicolas Jackson. Claiming he will become an unquestionably fine striker in the future.

During yesterday’s match, the Blues managed to walk away with a clean 3-0 victory, with Jackson scoring the final goal. The 22 year old’s shot at the 75th minute was Luton Town’s last nail in the coffin, destroying any hope they had of recovery.

Pochettino expressed high praise concerning the striker, regarding him as rare individual who’s hard to find in the current market. While he did claim Jackson is yet to give it his all, the manager greatly believes in his hidden potential.

“For me he has the potential to be a great striker. Only with time and we can’t rush him, give him space to grow and his qualities are fantastic.” Stated Pochettino after the match.

Chelsea and the potential Pochettino sees in Jackson

The Blues manager may seem too hopeful for the player’s future. Yet when looking back, it is clear he already has all the prove he needs.

Earlier this season the young man was able to maintain a stalemate with Liverpool resulting in a 1-1 draw. This is most impressive due to him being the sole striker that day.

Indeed, Christopher Nkunku received an injury during a friendly against Borussia Dortmund. Furthermore, the knee injury required surgery and has denied the possibility of him returning before November. Thus Jackson was not only playing by himself, but he also had to improvise as most of his training required Nkunku. With that into perspective, the young man’s efforts that day were all that Pochettino needed to see to grasp his potential.

But as the Chelsea manager clarified, the player’s talent is still raw, but will hopefully emerge as he sees play.
