According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG had plans to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool this summer. Speaking in an interview on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube Channel, Fabrizio revealed this interesting transfer rumor. The Italian also added that if Salah was to sign for PSG, then before that Kylian Mbappe had to transfer to Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid were in the center stage of the transfer market in the last few days of closing of the market, due to Kylian Mbappe. All the reports started to emerge that Madrid had placed their first bid for signing the Frenchman. But PSG rejected it as they were determined to keep him this season.

However, Madrid placed a second bid which was again rejected by the French giants, but in between all this PSG had plans to sign Salah, as per Fabrizio Romano. The Italian said, “PSG were looking at this possibility of signing Sala earlier this summer if they had the chance to sell Mbappe to Real Madrid.” “PSG were prepared to do something big and they wanted to try for Salah. Liverpool had no intention to open any talks so it was just an idea.”

Currently, Kylian Mbappe is continuing at PSG despite all those huge bids from Real Madrid. But coming to next year, the French side might lose him for free as his contract ends. Following which PSG might go big with bidding for Mohamed Salah. But it might not be easy as the Egyptian as a strong emotion playing for Liverpool all these years. And the Reds are also determined to keep Salah for coming years.

However, despite his top-scoring form the main talking point surrounding around him is his contract situation. Salah is currently contracted until 2023 with Liverpool and the club offered him a contract extension. But the Egyptian is yet to comment on extending his future as he delays signing the new contract. However, Fabrizio Romano says, Salah is happy playing for Liverpool.

The Italian speaking to Rio Ferdinand said Salah still negotiating with Liverpool. He loves Liverpool Football Club, the fans, the stadium – everything. He’s really happy at Liverpool. But a new contract is not agreed yet.”
