Liverpool football club is up for sale and interest from Middle-east looks evident.
Qatar Invest Authority (QSI) have begun talks with Fenway sports group(FSG) for Liverpool. FSG are willing to sell minority stakes in the club as per rumors.
In spite of FSG wanting overall control over Anfield. Football Insider suggests Arabs would prefer to buy the majority of the Stakes for complete ownership of the club.
Last year, FSG surprised everyone by announcing that Liverpool is up for sale. The Americans also confirmed that under suitable conditions they “would consider new shareholders” though they remain fully committed for the club’s future.
Qatari journalist Mohammed Saeed Alkaabi stated that QSI have prioritized the Reds takeover, earlier this month.
Previously, Saudi Arabia’s Sports Minister confirmed that State would encourage a Saudi public sector bid for either Manchester United or Liverpool.
He further quoted through BBC –
“From the private sector, I can’t speak on their behalf, but there is a lot of interest and appetite and there’s a lot of passion about football.
“It’s the most-watched league in Saudi and the region and you have a lot of fans of the Premier League.
“We will definitely support it if any [Saudi] private sector comes in, because we know that’s going to reflect positively on sports within the kingdom.
Can this Qatar takeover solve Liverpool’s problem ?
Liverpool looks in huge trouble with a completely disastrous reign of form. Currently standing at 10th position in Premier League, they are looking for some serious investments for incoming recruitments. Jude Bellingham is one of the long-term targets for the Reds and will cost around £100, something FSG have never spent on a single player.
Arab owners already have the reputation of spending huge amounts of money in transfers which can be seen for the likes of PSG and Manchester City.
However, with other Premier League clubs involved in huge transfers, the takeover looks very essential for Liverpool.
