Ravi Shastri advises team India ‘Rahul can bat in No. 5’

After continuous failures, KL Rahul lost his vice-captain position in all formats of the game. He even lost his Test opening position to Shubman Gill who is in superb form. He is the wicketkeeper in the ODI format for team India. The former Indian coach Ravi Shastri, says KL Rahul should play the WTC Final as a wicketkeeper-batsman in the middle order.

Ravi Shastri’s suggestion to team India

“He has really done well to keep the selectors interested ahead of the WTC final. Two things, one for the ODI series when Rohit Sharma returns and the other for the WTC final. India can bolster their batting if Rahul can keep wickets. Rahul can bat in the middle-order No. 5 or No. 6. in England.

Ravi Shastri further added,

” you have to generally keep wickets from far behind. You don’t have to keep up to the spinners a lot. He has 3 more ODIs to go before the IPL. He can cement his place in that Indian team.”

KL Rahul has good stats in England in test cricket. He has scored 614 runs at 34.11 with two centuries and one fifty. KS Bharat didn’t use the given opportunity properly. To be honest, it was his best chance to retain the name in the playing 11 until Pant comes back. He literally dropped a catch per innings in the four-match test series against Australia. Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin won the player of the series award. Virat Kohli was adjudged as man of the match in the fourth test.
