Rahul is going through the worst phase in his cricketing career. Earlier he was removed from the vice-captain position in white ball cricket. This happened due to his poor form in the T20is. Now, he is removed from the vice-captain in the test also. The squad for the last two test matches was announced without the vice-captain.

“A few people thinking i have something personal against KL Rahul. Infact it is the opposite. I wish well for him and playing him in such form was never going to enhance his confidence. For him to earn his place back in Test cricket, now that the domestic season has ended,”
He also added that
“Rahul needs to play County cricket in England , score runs and earn his place back, much like Pujara did when he was dropped. Playing Test Cricket for the county and doing everything possible to get back in form will be the best answer. But will it be possible to skip the IPL?”.
Dinesh Karthik also said that it is not about technic every time the noise from outside also
“He also knows for a fact that if he’s going to be dropped for the next match, which is pretty much an eventuality, is not because of the one innings, it is because of what has transpired in the last five-six Test matches. He is a class player. Rahul is very good in all formats. At this point, I don’t think it’s the technique, it’s what is happening between the ears. He might need some time away from the game. Come back fresh for the ODIs,”
Rahul has scored 2642 runs at an average of about 33 in the 47 test matches. He also has centuries in South Africa and England where scoring runs is difficult.
