Sport reports that Raphinha has rejected an offer from Liverpool. This deal included Minamino to make to the Elland Road. It was known from the previous season that Raphinha will be joining Barcelona this season. Moreover, reports claim that he has already given a verbal agreement to the Catalans personally.
The agreement includes a five-year deal to join Camp Nou. However, presently there are some disagreements between the two clubs over the Brazilian’s transfer fee. Leeds would not settle for anything less than 56 million Euros.
Here, Liverpool seems to have joined this race to Barca’s disadvantage. Barca’s financial condition is currently precarious. Reports now suggest that Jurgen Klopp wants Raphinha as Sadio Mane’s replacement. Though, the Senegalese’s contract ends next year. However, now it seems that he will not stay at Anfield this season. Bayern Munich leads the race to sign the forward.
Therefore, Liverpool reportedly put forward a deal for the winger which Raphinha rejected. He is said to have eyes only on Barcelona. Leeds however, is said to be open to doing business with Liverpool.
Is Raphinha joining Liverpool being on the cards?
Though, Barcelona still looks favourites to sign the Brazilian winger. However, he should not be averse to joining Liverpool. The Reds had quite an impressive season and they were bidding for a quadruple last season.
Therefore, it would be foolish for him to turn down this offer at this moment. If Barcelona cannot pay the desired amount that Leeds are asking for, Leeds are said to be not interested in doing business with the Catalan club.
Moreover, if they were so desperate to sign the winger they would not have negotiated the fee so much. Barca has said that they would not pay more than 34 million Euros for the Brazilian.
