Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has told what he said to Liverpool star about a comeback to Dutch national side. Koeman admits that there is a way back for Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in the squad. Ryan has been frozen out by Dutch set-up owing to his ignorance for a call-up in September. Though, it was a U-21 call but the Dutch association is furious and are not afraid to show it. Now, Ryan is doing an impressive job at Merseyside and a return could be made inevitable.

Koeman admits his talks with Liverpool man over a potential return

Speaking on Dutch TV via Voetbal International, Koeman has admitted that he has now spoken to the Liverpool man. The former Everton and Barcelona manager said,

“We didn’t like that [refusing U21s call-up], but that’s in the past. Nigel (de Jong) has been at Liverpool, but I called him [Gravenberch] before I announced the pre-selection to tell him that he was not on the list. But if he continues to develop like he does now, he will join the Dutch national team.

But I have said that for the November period I want to do it with as much as possible with the group. He is a midfielder who if he starts playing more, he will definitely be in the picture. He was the same at Bayern Munich. But if you saw every weekend that he didn’t play or didn’t play much, then it doesn’t make sense to select him.”

Moreover, with Gravenberch doing great in the past few weeks, it is deserving for the 21-year old. Even in a disappointing game against Luton Town, Gravenberch caught eyes of many from his performances. Though, he could be on the bench for some Premier League fixtures. Nevertheless, it sounds as if he can be considered for a return to the national side soon.
