Reports arose that Newcastle United can ditch Eddie Howe if Mourinho registers interest to replace him. On the other hand, Manchester United leads the race to sign a Ten Hag favourite.

Mourinho, to replace Howe?

Since his move to St.James Park, Eddie Howe changed the complexion of The Magpies. Just a couple of days ago, his side defeated Arsenal and almost ended their Top 4 hopes. Additionally, he’s also a nominee for Premier League Manager of the Season along with Guardiola, Klopp, Frank and Vieira.

Now the news outlet Marca reports that Jose Mourinho might replace Howe in the coming season. If Mourinho wants to move to Tyneside, Saudi owners will signal a green light to the move. But the former Bournemouth boss is adored by his current club’s fans. He is at the peak of his managerial career, some thinks. Newcastle didn’t win any of the first 14 games of their PL campaign. Then came Howe like a messiah and now they are 12th with a matchday to spare.

Newcastle United and Aston Villa lead the race for Kalvin Phillips

Whether it’s Howe or Mourinho on the sidelines for The Magpies next season, they are ready to go and secure the signature of current Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips. With Leeds United almost on the verge of relegation, other PL clubs want to target to get the England international. Even Manchester United seemed interested, but the Yorkshire outfit would refuse to sell him to them. According to Football Insider, Newcastle and Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are the favourites to sign Kalvin Phillips. Both the clubs are working their best to get a deal done.

Timber to Manchester United?

Erik Ten Hag will start his journey as a Manchester United manager this week only. There is little time to waste for him. Accordingly, he is sorting out his targets and will try to pursue them. One such is Jurrien Timber whom Ten Hag is keen to bring with him from Ajax Amsterdam to Manchester United. Earlier, media outlets linked Timber with Bayern Munich. But, Sky Germany reported that now United’s pull is bigger to sign the 20-year old, chiefly because of Erik Ten Hag.
