Serge Gnabry wanted by Liverpool

The summer transfer window opens in a few days and it’s expected that Liverpool will have a busy summer. The club would be offloading a few players, who’ve performed at big stages for the reds. At the same Liverpool will add some new players with the midfield being a priority.

The Merseyside will also be looking at a new forward this season after Mane’s desire to leave has surfaced. Recently a few reports have surfaced which has linked Liverpool with Serge Gnabry. Liverpool may even contact the player’s representatives this summer to seal the deal within no time.

Gnabry previously has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Arsenal, PSG, Real Madrid & Juventus. This season he registered 17 goals accompanied by 10 assists and has been attracting attention from European heavy hitters.

Gnabry was allowed to leave Bayern, but why?

The forward holds a value of 80 million euros but Bayern understands they may have to accept 35-40 million euros. Gnabry doesn’t want to sign a new contract with the club and may leave for a free next summer when his contract expires. Bayern wants to sell him this summer to get some cash rather than losing him for free.

Gnabry’s representatives are well aware of their position and the immense power it provides them. Gnabry is seriously considering a future outside Germany but the Bavarian club is considering its options this summer. He has been a long-term target with scouts monitoring his progress in Bundesliga ever since he left Arsenal.

According to reports, Gnabry’s agent has been in talks with the Merseyside since May. The talks were mostly regarding contracts but the club hasn’t officially reached out to Bayern for the transfer. The player wants 13 million pounds per year which makes 250,000 pounds per week. Liverpool is open to making an offer closer to 200,000 pounds per week.

Since then, there haven’t been any talks and salary negotiations with Liverpool have always been tough. Mo Salah is the latest victim of this very issue and the player is on the verge of leaving the club. Mo Salah has agreed to sign a new contract but it’s the salary offered by the club that has hindered the progress.

If Gnabry wants money then Liverpool isn’t the ideal destination but footballing wise it could be a match made in heaven. Gnabry will fit perfectly into Jurgen Klopp’s system.
