ARSENAL AND BROOKE NORTON CUFFY LOAN DEAL FULL STORY
According to reports, Arsenal are reportedly ready to loan out the highly-rated young right-back for the season. The defender has just signed a new deal with the club. He also confirmed his intentions to go out on loan to Championship for the season. The right-back hopes to get regular first-team football while on loan. He hopes regular game time will help him impress Mikel Arteta who has big hopes for the defender.
He said,” Hopefully, I’ll go to a Championship side and we’ll see what the Championship has to offer.” However, he joined the first-team training after signing a new contract with the club. A number of reports even claimed that he is going to stay with the first team this season. Although, his agent has again confirmed that the player is keen to go on loan to the Championship in this transfer window.
MANY CHAMPIONSHIP CLUBS ARE REPORTEDLY INTERESTED IN THE LOAN DEAL
The player’s agent Alan Redmond has confirmed that a loan move to Championship is still the plan.He also adds that it’s just a matter of narrowing down the options. He said,” In terms of a solid example, we have Brooke Norton-Cuffy who has just signed a new contract at Arsenal, and there are about seven Championship clubs looking to take him on loan.
Norton-Cuffy had a very strong loan spell with Lincoln City in League one. He made 17 appearances in a few months with the side. He also earned praise for his performances. Hence, a loan move to the Championship makes sense for all the parties including Arsenal. The suggestions are that Norton-Cuffy will get opportunities in the Premier League if he keeps developing as he has done so far.
However, currently, a loan move is best for the full-back. Arsenal currently have a number of right-backs on their books. Ben White is currently doing well at right-back. Tomiyasu is also soon returning from injury. Cedric can also provide cover if needed. They are also still yet to sell Ainsley Maitland Niles and Hector Bellerin.
