Slot will struggle at Liverpool according to Ally McCoist

Jurgen Klopp announced he will be leaving Liverpool this summer. This is a challenging time for Liverpool due the problems that will follow. Many players are unsure about their future at the club. However looking at the bright side Liverpool signed former Feynoord manager Arne Slot. Following his appointment there are many questions raised on his selection.

McCoist doubts Slot will win the Premier League

Ally McCoist, speaking on talkSPORT, expressed his doubts on the former Feynoord’s manager about winning the league. There are doubts on the immediate success after his appointment this season. McCoist, a well-known voice in football analysis, highlighted the historical difficulty Dutch managers have faced in clinching the Premier League title. He pointed out, “No Dutchman has won the English Premier League,” underscoring the challenge that lies ahead for Slot.

He also explained how it is more difficult for the manager to coach the players in the Premier League. It is true that the situation of the players in Premier League is much different than the Dutch League. He mentioned, “Do we sometimes give too much kudos to how a coach does in Holland, where the competition is far less intense?” This skepticism extends to the realistic chances of success at Liverpool, especially considering the potential for key player exits which could undermine Slot’s first season.

Judging from the current situation at the club the many players are on the verge of leaving. Mohammed Salah is one of the key players expected to stay next summer. Players like Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander Arnold are also expected to extent their contract. Liverpool who were affected this season by injures expect their key players to return for the new manager. Next season will be the first real test for the club based on their recent success in the league.
