Former Arsenal winger Willian is proving to be one of the best free transfers this season. He has also helped Fulham stay seventh in the Premier League table this season.
Hence, it looks like Fulham will finally not be a yo-yo side this season. However, the success of Willian now looks like a rare failure for Mikel Arteta.
THE FAILURE OF WILLIAN AT ARSENAL
Willian signed for Arsenal from Chelsea on a free transfer. Many Gunners fans thought he would one of the best money-value signings. Willian also made it clear that he wanted to help the club win trophies. However, once the season started he could now show his determination in his performances. Hence, he was allowed to leave the club on a free transfer after only one season.
Willian also said that he did not feel happy at Arsenal. Hence, he joined Corinthians on a free transfer to return to his homeland. However, he also failed to make any impact. Hence, many fans even sent him death threats for not performing well. Therefore, he immediately terminated his contract at the end of his season. However, it looks like Willian is finally back successfully with Fulham.
THE BRAZILIAN IS BACK IN HIS BRILLIANT FORM WITH FULHAM
Willian had to be on trial with Fulham to prove his fitness. This trial also was done due to his lack of game time with both of his old clubs. However, despite proving his fitness, many claimed that the former Arsenal winger was signing for Fulham to make his last big cheque. Many even claimed that he only cared for money and not the team.
However, the winger is proving all the claims. The winger is scoring goals and creating assists. Many are also telling that the Willian of Chelsea is back. Whereas, it looks like he currently would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal. The Gunners currently are desperate to sign a right-winger. Hence, a signing like Willian would have worked for them.
Arsenal will certainly hope that they avoid failure signings like Willian in the future transfer windows. Willian will also now hope that he put his horror spell with the Gunners and in Brazil in the back burner. He will now hope to help Fulham push into the top six of the Premier League.
