Florian Plettenburg reports that Sadio Mane could leave Liverpool this season for Bayern Munich. The reason given for his departure is missing out on the Premier League title this season.
The Sky Germany reports that Bayern could well pull off an impressive signing this summer. However, Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the Senegalese international. We are to understand that both Julian Nagelsmann and Hasan Salihamidzic who is the Director of Football with Bayern and both of them want Mane at the Allianz Arena.
Moreover, Barcelona are also interested in signing Mane. Sky Germany says that the next three or four weeks could be crucial in this transfer story. The transfer fee is said to be just under €50million. Plettenburg mentions that ‘there is movement’ in negotiations which include Mane and his representatives. Mane has had an impressive season with the Reds. He scored 23 goals from the 50 appearances that he made. Moreover, he also provided five assists.
Leaving Sadio Mane could be a big loss for Liverpool
Liverpool must push for getting Mane to extend his deal as they are doing with Mohamed Salah. Both the players’ contract ends next season. Mane is undoubtedly one of Europe’s best forwards. Moreover, if Liverpool succeeds in winning the Champions League, he could well fight for winning the Ballon d’Or.
Mane has shown what he is capable of this season, again. Moreover, he has thrived in the central role as well. A central role does not require too much tracking back.
Hence, when he reaches his 30s he will still be a lethal striker and Liverpool could play him. Liverpool could in no way allow Mane to leave Anfield. The Champions League final on Saturday is said to have a big say on Mane’s future at Liverpool.
