Fortune Smiles on the Reds, as Foe’s Losses Propels Liverpool Forward

In a significant turn of events, Manchester United, currently sitting in fourth spot, suffered a 1-0 defeat against West Ham United on Sunday evening. This outcome keeps the Red Devils slightly ahead of Liverpool, although they still have a game in hand. Meanwhile, Newcastle United, occupying the third spot and holding a three-point advantage over Liverpool with one less match played, encountered a 2-0 loss against Arsenal.

However, Klopp suggests that Liverpool should look to secure a spot in the Europa League first for the upcoming season.

Despite being one of the standout teams this season, Brighton had their eyes set on a historic qualification for European competition. However, the seagulls’ aspirations were dealt a blow. As they suffered a surprising 5-1 defeat to Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals, Everton, at the AMEX Stadium last night. The victory pulled the Toffees out of the relegation zone, elevating them to 16th place in the standings.

In spite of having two games in hand, Brighton’s chances of surpassing Liverpool in the standings are slim. Even if they were to win both matches, Liverpool would still maintain a one-point advantage over them.

Looking ahead to the upcoming games, Liverpool’s next assignment is against Leicester City on Monday, May 15th. Meanwhile, Manchester United will be facing Wolves two days prior, and Newcastle will embark on a journey to face Leeds United. These games could very well act as a deciding factor in the race for the top four spots up for grabs.
