Cascarino claimed Liverpool may sign Rival Club’s Midfielder

Liverpool may sign City Midfielder Kalvin Phillips during the summer transfer window.

Former footballer and Reds fan Tony Cascarino discussed some of the midfielders Liverpool should go for. Jurgen Klopp will look to bolster his midfield next summer.

Writing in The Times, Cascarino has claimed:

“The club have been strongly linked with Jude Bellingham, but I have said before that I would rather they went for Declan Rice. Liverpool are more in need of a player like Rice, who sits in front of the back four and does the ugly side of the game well,” said the pundit.”

“Should Arsenal fail in their pursuit of Brighton’s Moises Caicedo this month, he would be an option again in the summer, or they could even consider Kalvin Phillips at Manchester City.”

Liverpool might go for other options next summer

Looking at other options, Liverpool are least expected to go for Kalvin Phillips.

But it takes nothing from a midfielder, Phiillips has proven himself in Premier League and at the international level both.

He earned a move to Manchester City last summer for around £45m for his great stint in Leeds United colors last season.

Phillips is yet to start a Premier League game for City and has not registered a single-goal contribution in any of his eight appearances.

But Phillips’ injury record alone should avert Liverpool from any kind of interest in him as they already have a long list of injuries to deal with.
