Hugo ekitike

West Ham United are reportedly exploring a late deal to sign Juventus midfielder Filip Kostic. The Hammers are considering both loan and permanent moves for the 30-year-old Serbia international. Who is value by Juventus at around £25 million. Hammers had attempted to sign Kostic last summer before he moved to Turin from Eintracht Frankfurt. Kostic, who is yet to feature in Serie A this season. Has three years left on his contract at Juventus, and West Ham is to continue talks on Thursday.

West Ham’s director of football, Tim Steidten, has been in Brazil this week, attempting to secure a deal for Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto. However, a move for the talented young striker has collapsed. And the Hammers are now considering alternative targets. One of these potential targets is Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike. Who has been links with a move to the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham and their tactics

West Ham is also in the market for a defender, and they have reportedly looked at Peterborough’s Ronnie Edwards. However, a move for the 19-year-old center-back is considered unlikely. With the Hammers focusing their attention on securing a striker before Friday’s transfer deadline.

In addition to their pursuit of Kostic, Hammers is also reportedly interested in signing other midfield options. However, their pursuit of a new midfielder could be complicated by Everton’s interest in Lyon’s Maxwel Cornet. The Ivorian winger has been linked with a move away from Lyon this summer. And Everton could make a late move for him if West Ham secures Kostic or another midfielder.

West Ham had an impressive 2022/23 campaign. Finishing sixth in the Premier League and qualifying for the Europa League. The Hammers have already made several signings this summer. Including goalkeeper Alisson Becker and striker Raul Jimenez. However, with the transfer deadline fast approaching. West Ham is keen to add more quality to their squad, particularly in the attacking department.
