West Ham players ratings in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Leicester City

Here we have with us the West Ham United player ratings against Leicester City. Both the teams gave each other tough competition, however, Leicester created more chances and saw more of the ball. West Ham’s late equalizer got themselves a point and snatched away two points from the Foxes.

West Ham opened the scoring with Issa Diop’s pinpoint cross from the backline to the feet of Jarrod Bowen. The 25-year-old forward controlled the ball well and was quick to finish past Kasper Schmeichel. However, Leicester City reacted to it and got their goal just before halftime. West Ham’s corner landed directly into Cresswell’s arms and Tielemans stepped on the spot to finish in the bottom left corner.

Harvey Barnes put in an excellent cross in the 57th minute. Ricardo Pereira was at the right place at the right time who flew in to score the header from Barnes’ cross and take the lead for Leicester. However, West Ham equalized in stoppage time as Craig Dawson headed Jarrod Bowen’s corner while climbing over Amartey.

West Ham are placed 4th on the Premier League table with 41 points but having played one more game than Manchester United. Whereas, Leicester City are 11th on the Premier League table with 27 points with two games in hand as opposed to Southampton who are 10th on the table with 2 more points.

Lukasz Fabianski – 6/10

Almost saved Tielemans’ penalty but needed more to reach the ball. Moreover, he could have punched or caught Barnes’ cross that led to the second goal.

Vladimir Coufal – 4/10

Could not handle Harvey Barnes who was able to easily go past Coufal on various occasions.

Craig Dawson – 7/10

Scored the most-important equalizer in the final minutes. Moreover, he was very strong at making interceptions and blocking shots.

Issa Diop – 7/10

An excellent assist from the backline to Jarrod Bowen who opened the scoring. A good performance from his previous appearance in the FA Cup.

Aaron Cresswell – 4/10

Got forward well but missed a good chance to score. Moreover, he gave away a penalty and also could have done better in preventing Leicester’s second goal. A night to forget for him.

Declan Rice – 6/10

Got forward a few times in the first half and was not afraid of having a shout at his players about the silly errors.

Tomas Soucek – 6/10

Was not comfortable on the ball but always worked hard to contribute in both attack and as well as in defense.

Jarrod Bowen – 7/10

Scored his 10th goal in 10 appearances for the Hammers and also got an assist with a pinpoint cross in the final minutes.

Pablo Fornals – 4/10

Was lost in the game at times and always had a problem making things happen. Moyes stood him up for a high five when he came off the pitch.

Manuel Lanzini – 5/10

Was very good on the ball but failed to create good chances in the second half. He saw the ball very little but fluffed the chance when he had one.

Michail Antonio – 5/10

Provided the work rate and was a handful for the defenders to handle as usual. However, he couldn’t get into good scoring positions and therefore had a quiet evening.

Substitutes

Ryan Fredericks – 6/10

Did better than Coufal to handle Barnes and his pace on the right-hand side.

Nikola Vlasic – 4/10

Had very little impact on the game.

Said Benrahma – 6/10

Looked energetic when he came on and had three shots on goal to show for it.
