West Ham United are reportedly close to agreeing a season-long loan deal with Chelsea for striker Armando Broja. The player is very keen to play first-team football this season.
The forward has put pen to paper on a long-term deal until June 2026. However, his future at the club remains uncertain due to limited first-team football.
WEST HAM UNITED AND ARMANDO BROJA TRANSFER LINKS FULL STORY
The 20-year-old is believed to be one of David Moyes’s top transfer targets this summer. Moyes is very keen to add a center-forward to his ranks to provide competition for Michail Antonio. According to reports, the Hammers tabled an offer to Chelsea for Broja, which includes an upfront payment of £25m plus an additional £5m in bonuses. However, it looks like the forward will be arriving on loan from the Blues.
He impressed many teams when he was on loan at Southampton. The mother of Armando Broja has also previously stated that regular first-team football is a priority for him next season. This is something David Moyes will be providing the striker should he decide to join West Ham. However, the deal is not yet completed and personal terms are also not fully agreed. Although, the deal is on right track.
THE DEAL ALSO BENEFITS THE INTEREST OF CHELSEA
The deal also will protect the interest of Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel. According to many reports, Tuchel does not want the Albanian striker to leave the club permanently. He is also keen to see how he performs in the pre-season. The report also adds that West Ham have accepted Chelsea’s stance on Broja. The club are now willing to take him on a season-long loan deal. However, the hammers are keen to add an option to sign him on a permanent deal next summer.
Although, Thomas Tuchel is yet to sanction his temporary exit. This is why West Ham have also tabled an offer for Sassuolo marksman Gianluca Scamacca as a possible target. The Italian Club’s CEO has confirmed the club have lodged a bid for the 23-year-old which is yet to be agreed.
Armando Broja enjoyed a successful loan spell with Southampton last season. He scored nine goals in 38 appearances across all competitions. He has also impressed on his loan spell at Vitesse last season. However, at Chelsea, he has only made one substitute appearance in the first team in 2020 against Everton.
