West Ham United considering January move for Divock Origi

West Ham United are said to be interested in Clermont attacker Mohamed Bayo and Liverpool forward Divock Origi.

David Moyes is still looking for a new centre-forward to give icon Michail Antonio. The club’s sole recognised number nine, some competition.

Clermont rejected a £7 million approach from West Ham for Bayo in the summer. But the Ligue 1 club is willing to take bids of approximately £15 million in the winter window. According to Sources

Brighton & Hove Albion, Brentford, and Southampton are reportedly interested in signing the 23-year-old Frenchman. He has seven goals in 12 league games this season.

West Ham is also interested in Belgium international Origi, according to the source. But they are apprehensive of beginning negotiations with the Reds. Because they are concerned that Jarrod Bowen’s name may come up in any future conversations.

Origi’s current contract at Anfield expires next summer. And if he fails to sign a new contract, Liverpool may consider selling him in January.

The strong record has continued on the continent. With the east London club presently unblemished in Group H of the Europa League. After a perfect start to the group stage with three victories and a tie in their first four games.

West Ham has been largely reliant on Michail Antonio in previous seasons, with no apparent centre-forward alternative following the departure of club-record signing Sebastian Haller in January. Such outstanding success has come despite a lack of meaningful offensive options.

Signing a striker like Divock Origi is a must for West ham

Divock Origi, according to former England manager Sam Allardyce, needs to leave Anfield in search of regular play.

Origi has been with the club since 2015 but has never been able to establish himself as a regular starter.

He has, however, had his moments of glory. Most notably in the build-up to the club’s Champions League success in 2019. When he scored twice in the crucial second leg of the semi-final against Barcelona. Catapulting the team into the final — in which he also scored.

Jürgen Klopp has never appeared to fully trust Origi. And he’s never challenged the long-established combination. Of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mané in the manner that Diogo Jota has. He’ll definitely be called upon for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON). But he’ll be on the outside looking in for the most part.

While Divock Origi can make sure he receives a stable amount of games during the season. Currently, West Ham doesn’t have another striker who can rely upon the goals when Antonio is not on the pitch. While there is quite a difference between the playing styles of Liverpool and West Ham. The striker is known for his intense work rate and being there at the right time.

Due to this, the player has been a part of many crucial goals for Liverpool. With this ability. The West Ham team could lay in crosses from deep to help create chances in front of the goal. In the West ham team, Divock Origi could score 10-15 goals in the season if he is a first-team starter.

While Divock Origi might not be the final answer, he might be very helpful for the transitional phase.
