Jeremy Doku is currently undergoing medical testing, finally confirming the player’s addition to the Man City club. In fact, many speculate he may arrive as early as Friday.
Manchester City have finally sealed the deal with Doku with him signing his documents later this day. And with him, the team’s need for an attacker may finally be resolved.
Indeed, with Riyad Mahrez’s recent transfer to Al-Hilal for £30 million, the attacker’s position required a replacement. This however proved difficult, as candidates were few, and befitting ones were even fewer. with sources claiming only fellow teammates Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Bernardo Silva and Julian Alvarez were able to take his place.
However, Pep Guardiola saw the potential in Doku and opted to sign him for a fee of £55.5 million. The manager is hoping to see his offensive needs filled by the 21 year old and it is easy to see why.
The young man is both fast and aggressive, a gap closing threat that can use both feet to score. With 11 goal scored during 35 games, the midfielder’s capabilities cannot be questioned. Although some do wonder if the Belgian is too young for the team.
While the future is uncertain, Jeremy Doku seems to have a bright future ahead of him with Man City.
Jeremy Doku’s future with Man City
It is difficult to speculate on subjects of this type, but luckily another player has had a very similar experience. Said player is none other than Ruben Dias.
Dias had the similar purpose of replacing a very talented player, which in his case was Vincent Kompany, Burnley’s current manager. Most sources similarly described the Portugal international as a talented individual. And most importantly, the club manager saw him fit for the role, a role which he now excels in.
Thus it is safe to say that Doku will surely not disappoint.
