Wolves are preparing to sign Benfica superstar Rafa Silva in the upcoming transfer window as per various reports. Meanwhile, Trincao is anticipated to get back to the Catalunyan giants as soon as his loan spell gets over. Wolves have a €25m clause in the winger’s loan as per Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old Portuguese hasn’t been much effective for Wolves. Trincao was loaned to the Wolves from Barcelona. The Portuguese youngster has miserably failed in the Wolves shirt.
He failed to assist or score in his 20 EPL matches for the Molineux side. However, he has a goal to his name against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup.
As a result, Wolves are not willing to make the loan deal into a permanent one at a whopping cost of £25m. Meanwhile, the club is looking forward to bidding for Benfica’s man in form as his replacement. As Jeunes Footeux claims the Portugal international Rafa Silva is on the radar of the English club.
The 28-year-old is going through a dream run of form.
Wolves new signing
Meanwhile, the Portuguese star has brilliant 28 goals involvement in 38 games in this season. Moreover, he has managed to score 11 goals and created 17 assists. The report also claims that Benfica is requesting an enormous £42million. If this deal goes through, then this is a club-record figure for Wolves.
The decision not to trigger the permanent option in Trincao’s loan might certainly prove to be the correct one. However, to spend a whopping sum of £42million on Rafa will be a costly deal for the Molineux side. However, Silva’s current run of form might change the minds of the Wolves.
Moreover, the Portuguese group is very strong at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Silva would definitely get the ambiance of being at home. However, he turns 29 this year in May.
So it would make Wolves think about spending such a huge sum of cash. Especially on a player who would be in his 30s in a year and a half.
However, if Wolves can manage to reduce the fee that is slightly below that figure, then perhaps Wolves might sign Silva. So, something between €36million and €40million would make a lot of sense to sign the in-form forward.
