Dale Steyn made a tweet after the humiliating loss of the Aussies in the first test in Nagpur. The reason for losing the test match is their batters just couldn’t stand on the pitch. The Indian skipper leads the team from the front and the rest of the work was done by the spinners.
The Aussies didn’t give a slight fight throughout the match. However, Smith fought hard in both innings of the match. No other batsmen can withstand the spin trio of India.
Dale’s controversial tweet on Aussies
In the tweet, Dale Steyn wrote that
“So quick question to you cricket people. How does one like to read a pitch? Are you a get down on your knees and almost sniff the pitch person or a general stand and observe from the pitch side? Lastly. Did it really help you?”
Even though Dale didn’t mention the Aussies anywhere in the tweet. It was pretty much obvious to understand the matter of the tweet. The pitch-talk was there before even the Australians reached India for the tour. They tried to create a kind of win-win situation.
Rohit Sharma slammed a great ton on the same pitch and the half-centuries from Jadeja and Axar Patel helped India to post a total of 400 in the first innings of the match. Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin did have a good outing, but it was their clinical spells rather than any extraordinary assistance from the surface.
