Everton have approached Chelsea with a potential deal to sign the Albanian player
Everton have been relatively quiet in this transfer window as compared to other clubs in the Premier League. They have only signed James Tarkowski this summer in the transfer window. Frank Lampard has over a month left to inject some young blood into the squad. One such potential signing that Frank is eyeing is Chelsea player Armando Broja.
Armando Broja signed his first professional contract with Chelsea in 2020. Since his signing, he has struggled to find minutes with the first squad. He has been sent out on various loans by the club. The most recent loan spell of Broja was with Southampton. Albania’s assistant manager, Sergio Porrini, has heaped praises on the young talent. He has said:
“From last year to this he has grown a lot, and at Southampton, he has exploded. His greatest qualities are in progression, especially the ball and chain. (He’s) less good, on the other hand, with his back to the goal, in the construction of the action. But, in the spaces, he is devastating!”
Broja wants to stay put at Chelsea
Broja was an integral part of the Southampton squad last season. He managed to score nine goals in 34 appearances for Southampton across all competition. Along with his loan with Southampton, he has had a loan spell at Vitesse too. This shows that he has the experience needed to score regularly. But to do that, he has to keep on improving in a consistent basis.
However, according to multiple reports, Broja is keen to stay put at Chelsea and fight for a place in the squad. Broja will be an ideal replacement for Richarlison who has left to play for Tottenham. However, to sign Broja, Lampard has to move quickly. Everton are not the only club interested in signing the forward. Newcastle and West Ham are also interested in signing the forward. Only time will tell what is in store for us in this transfer window.
