Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was called exceptional by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. He has also praised the tactics of his former assistant.

Hence, he has said that the race for the Premier League trophy is tight this season. He has also said that his team also deserves to be first on the table.

THE RISE OF ARSENAL UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF MIKEL ARTETA

The appointment of Mikel Arteta as the Arsenal manager raised many eyebrows. Many thought that he got the job only because he was a legendary player for the club. However, the owners made it clear that they saw his work under Pep Guardiola at City. Hence, they gave him the opportunity to lead the sporting project of the club.

However, despite winning the Community Shield and FA Cup in the initial season , many thought that their form in the Premier League and the Europa League was not upto the mark. Many also blamed this form for their failure to qualify in the Champions League. However, Arsenal fans and owners have trusted him in all of his decisions including the Aubameyang selling decision. Hence, this is the reason that this team is currently at the top of the Premier League table.

PEP GUARDIOLA HAS ALSO CALLED HIM A BRILLIANT MANAGER

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has also called Mikel Arteta a brilliant manager. He even told the Arsenal fans to trust him throughout the process. He has also praised the ability of his former assistant and the current manager of the Gunners. However, it looks like his former assistant is pushing him for the title fight this season.

He further said,

“We could be top of the league! But Arsenal have been exceptional. I think yesterday one guy on my staff told me that we had more points in the Premier League [at this stage of the season] than I think in the last four seasons!. “So that means we have been really good, but another team has been better. We have to accept it. This is the level, the bar, the standards. “Arsenal are certainly setting the standard, they just have to keep it up.

Arsenal will certainly hope that his brilliant form keeps them at the top of the Premier League table. They will also hope that they can challenge for the Europa League and FA Cup. However, their run in the Carabao Cup ended after a defeat to Brighton.
