Arsenal were not happy with losing Yunus Musah to Valencia. The claim was made by former Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere.

However, they were rightfully not happy with the situation. Although, the midfielder has said that he left the club for family reasons.

THE STINT OF YUNUS MENSAH WITH ARSENAL FULL STORY

Arsenal legend midfielder Jack Wilshere has said that academy coaches were not happy with the departure of Yunus Mensah. The USA midfielder left the club in 2019. Hence, many fans were also surprised with the situation. This is because many thought he would become the next star player for the Gunners. However, he decided to leave them for Valencia.

Although, he also said that he had to leave Arsenal because of family reasons. Hence, there was nothing the Gunners could have done to prevent the midfielder from leaving. Therefore, parting ways was the best option for both the club and the player. A number of interviews also claim that England manager Gareth Southgate was also not happy with the situation.

JACK WILSHERE ALSO LIKED WITH THE ABILITY OF THE USA MIDFIELDER

Arsenal academy manager Jack Wilshere has said that all the people within the club rated the ability of Yunus Musah very highly. However, he has said that in football anything can happen at anytime. Therefore, no one should have any regrets about the move. The former England midfielder has also said that he is one of the most important players for US national team in the FIFA World Cup this year.

Jack Wilshere further said,

“There is also young Yunus Musah in midfield, who really looks the part even though he does not turn 20 until next week. “We had him at Arsenal from the age of nine until he was 16, when he moved to Spain for family reasons and joined Valencia. “He is a well-travelled lad, having lived in the USA and Italy too — that helped his football education. My assistant coach with the Arsenal Under-18s, Adam Birchall, always tells me what a good player he was in our academy.

The former England youth midfielder was also brilliant against England in the 0-0 draw in their second match of the World Cup. Hence, it clearly indicates that Arsenal academy coaches were right about his special abilities. Mikel Arteta would have loved a player like Musah in the midfield.
