Arsenal’s roots: Danny Murphy says Arsenal cannot do without the two men

Arsenal

Danny Murphy claims that Arsenal cannot do without their two key players. Murphy was lauding the Arsenal duo of William Saliba and Declan Rice recently. Though, the Gunners managed only to draw the game against Liverpool, Murphy was very much impressed by the pair. The Gunners took the lead owing to a Gabriel header but Salah equalised at home with a superb goal. The two sides later on had many chances to lead but none succeeded.

However, there were many individual brilliances from both the sides during the game. One such from Arsenal was Rice and Saliba whom the former Liverpool man lauds. Writing in his column for The Daily Mail, Murphy admitted he’s been so impressed by the Arsenal duo. He also believes that Arteta cannot do it without them now. He wrote,

This game showed me just how important Rice — and also William Saliba — are for Mikel Arteta. They are the two players he cannot do without if they are going to win the Premier League. With those two players in the side, they can get a result anywhere.”

William Saliba was especially very good and was honoured with the man of the match award. Arsenal showed that they are capable of competing with the big clubs and Rice was the man proving it too. The Englishman showed that why he is being paid such a high price by the club. As the season is growing, Rice is turning out to be the main man for them. Saliba is also going shoulder to shoulder with some of the best strikers in the league like Haaland, Hojlund and others.
