Aston Villa have put a price tag of £20 million on talented youngster Carney Chukwuemeka. The youngster’s contract will expire next year. A lot of top European clubs have expressed their interest in signing the player. Villa are hoping to get a decent fee for the youngster if he decides to leave Villa Park next summer.

Carney Chukwuemeka plays as a midfielder for Aston Villa. He joined Aston Villa from Northampton Town in 2016. He signed his first professional contract with Aston Villa in July 2020. Hence, Carney made his first team debut in May of 2021 against Tottenham. In 2021 he was named Aston Villa’s academy player of the season. His first team start against Brentford was a match to remember for all Villa fans. He was outstanding in the match as a youth player. Moreover, his calmness and composure in that match were extraordinary.

Carney has also thrived at the international level. He is the captain of the England U-19 team. Carney is an integral part of England under 19 team. He featured in every game for the U-19 team in the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He scored a goal in England’s 3-1 victory over Israel in the extra time of the UEFA Under-19 Championship final. Consequently, he was picked for the UEFA team of the tournament.

Aston Villa have offered an improved contract to Charney. However, Charney’s representatives are stalling the negotiations. Consequently, Steven Gerrard has excluded him from the pre-season squad of Aston Villa.

“Carney is yet to sign a contract offer that has been in place for some time,” said Gerrard. “I’ve decided the best thing would be to continue his training program back at Bodymoor.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are the club most interested in signing the player. Moreover, Dortmund and the Manchester clubs are also in talks with Villa officials regarding Charney.
