ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa plotting a move for PSV’s Ibrahim Sangare

According to Josh Holland, Aston Villa are looking to make a move for the player

Aston Villa are rumored to be making a potential move for PSV player Ibrahim Sangare. With Douglas Luiz linked with a move to AC Milan, Villa could do well by signing the midfielder this season. Moreover, Boubacar Kamara has arrived from Marseille on a free transfer. If they can sign Scammaca, Aston Villa will have a potentially destructive midfield in their hands. This will help them in their quest for European football considerably.

Talking to GIVEMESPORT, Josh Holland spoke about the potential options for midfield at Villa this summer :

I’ve been thinking and there’s a few midfielders who I think Villa could go for. I know that Sangare and PSV keeps on getting mentioned, and he’s got a release clause of £35m.”

The Ivory Coast international is looking to leave PSV this season. Not only Aston Villa, but premier league clubs such as Liverpool, Leicester City, and Newcastle are also interested in the player. Sangare joined PSV Eindhoven in 2020 from Toulouse. Sangare has much to offer tactically. He is excellent in the air, tall and imposing. He is an outstanding tackler too. He’s an extremely aggressive midfielder during the transition to attack. Sangare is an avid dribbler. He has a very ambitious passing ability too. Moreover, Sangare is an engine on the right-hand side of the pitch. He covers a lot of territory on the right-hand side while going forward. He has a high-risk high-reward type of approach to football which may be beneficial to Aston Villa.

Potential vacancy in the midfield

AC Milan have expressed an interest in Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz. If Milan is successful in their pursuit, Steven Gerrard could see a deficit in the midfield this season. Sangare could be a fine addition to Aston Villa in case of a deficit. Moreover, Sangare’s addition to Gerrard’s squad could see him giving trouble to opposition with his partnership with Kamara.
