Aston Villa’s double transfer claim by Ashley Preece

Ashley Preece, the Aston Villa correspondent, dropped an update on the club’s pending moves for Rory Wilson and Ewan Simpson. While Wilson is a forward for Rangers, Simpson ply his trade as a midfielder for Hearts.

Aston Villa entered the summer transfer window with an aggressive approach and looks like they will continue that. With several new and quality additions already, the club will now also invest in the academy. The Midlands club already spent £49m on 4 summer signings. They will now pay £350,000 for Wilson and £250,000 for Simpson.

Thoughts on the new Aston Villa academy additions

An inner source revealed BirminghamLive the following on the new academy recruits. He said:

“Scotland’s a really good market. Clubs could do with the money and even Rangers and Celtic will always sell you a player. The kids up there have that ‘Scottish steel’ if you like, that inner drive. You just look at the success stories in the Premier League at present. There’s not much of a transition, either, given that they speak the same language and eat the same foods.”

“Villa, if you didn’t know, haven’t got any scouts based in Scotland, they do all of the groundwork themselves. They moved quickly to sign Wilson and Simpson ahead of the rest and kudos to them. Those two players have very bright futures.”

“He reminds me of a Kevin Phillips, in the sense he can score from anywhere, outside the box, tap-ins, he’s got the lot. Pace, physique. He’s a really good kid. As for Simpson, he’s not even 16 yet but he keeps the ball ever so well. He’s immaculate, a very intelligent footballer. He’ll sit in front of a back four and dictate it. There’s a lot of excitement about him, let me tell you.”

Preece took to Twitter to inform the following:

“Lots happening at Villa’s impressive, forward-thinking academy. A lot of excitement over Wilson & Simpson; Omari Kellyman a star in the making while work to build new #avfc inner-city hub has commenced. There’s also a south Asian talent day next week.”
