According to several reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes offered Atletico Madrid a chance to sign the Portuguese this summer. But Atletico Madrid turned down Ronaldo’s offer as they were not interested in signing their rival club legend. Later on, in the summer transfer window, Cristiano Ronaldo made his return to Manchester United after 12 years.
Ronaldo’s transfer rumor were in the market, as the Portuguese was unhappy with the progress of Juventus. The old lady failed to win the Serie A title last season, while they also failed in the Champions League stage for the last three seasons. Following which Ronaldo seemed frustrated and wanted to leave Juventus.
And Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes started contracting clubs offering them the chance to sign the Portuguese this summer. Now, as per the latest reports, Mendes approached Atletico Madrid tabling an offer to them for signing the forward. But Atletico Madrid turned the offer to sign Cristiano Ronaldo without any second thoughts.
Ronaldo played for Atletico’s city rival Real Madrid for almost nine years and was the reason for many horrific moments. Following this, Atletico Madrid didn’t want to sign Ronaldo. Later on, Manchester United announced that they have signed back Cristiano Ronaldo after letting him go 12 years ago.
And on his Old Trafford return, Ronaldo scored a brace against Newcastle United in his second United debut. Currently, he has scored four goals for the red devils playing three matches for them this season. While the Portuguese looks hungry for more goals, following which we may see him roaring at the front for Manchester United.
Atletico Madrid landed Antoine Griezmann after rejecting Cristiano Ronaldo
The La Liga champions announced a shocking return of Antoine Griezmann from Barcelona on the transfer deadline day. The Frenchman returned to his former club on loan after leaving Atletico in 2019. However, Griezmann will now look to redeem himself in front of the fans putting an impressive performance this season. In his last spell at Atletico Madrid, the Frenchman 133 goals in 257 appearances. Following which Barcelona made almost 120 million to sign him in 2019.
