Barcelona are working a deal to bring back Pep Guardiola at Camp Nou. According to El Nacional, Laporta is doing “everything in his power” to convince the former Barça player and coach.

Meanwhile, Laporta has an excellent relationship with the Manchester City manager. Barcelona are not the same they were three seasons ago. They have faced losses of very big players like Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. Moreover, the clubs is suffering financially. Barcelona signed Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia, and Sergio Aguero this summer.

Due to the La Liga regulations, they were not able to keep Lionel Messi at the club. Messi’s contract had expired and he moved to Paris Saint-Germain. In addition to all these troubles, they were not able to register their new signing. So Barcelona center-back Gerard Piqué took a “substantial” reduction in salary in order for the club to register their new signings.

In the summer of 2019, Barcelona paid Atletico Madrid £120 million for the signing of Antoine Griezmann. Fast forward to 2021 Grizemann is back at Atletico and Barcelona are in deep trouble. Fans believe that all of Barcelona’s major signing like Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembélé, and Antoine Griezmann have failed because of mismanagement by Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Moreover, Barcelona player had to adapt to several different playstyles as the board did not believe in one manager. Over the past few seasons, Barcelona have had 3 managers sacked. Barcelona is being managed by club legend Ronald Koeman and Barcelona are set to replace him.

Can Barcelona become successful if they sign Pep Guardiola?

After Barcelona’s draw against Granada on the weekend and Champions League beating to Bayern Munich has questioned the manager’s future at the club.

Pep Guardiola has been very successful had Barcelona. During his spell at the club, he won several titles. However, the appointment of Pep does not ensure success. This is because Barcelona have dug themselves a very big hole and it will take time to come out of it.
