In spite of prospective interest, Chelsea already enjoys a cordial relationship with the agent of Brentford striker Ivan Toney. That is in accordance with a TEAMtalk report.

They clarify that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is now very active in the team’s hiring policies.

Ivan Toney, 27, has reportedly been named as a player the Blues head coach wants to work with at Stamford Bridge. In fact, both Chelsea and Arsenal have begun their own January recruitment drives for the Brentford center-forward.

Chelsea reportedly enjoys a “very good relationship” with the agency CAA Stellar, according to the publication. This summer, super-agent Jonathan Barnett brought Toney to his firm CAA.

Chelsea manager wants to bring Ivan Toney to Stamford Bridge

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Brentford has given the go-ahead for the sale of Toney during the upcoming transfer window, although they may seek a deal worth up to £70 million overall. The top candidates to sign the gifted 27-year-old attacker are now Chelsea and Arsenal.

Toney checks off all the boxes you could possibly want in a Premier League forward. According to Brentford manager Thomas Frank, he is “remarkable”. He is serving a ban for breaking betting laws. He will be unable to play any football in the first half of current season. But he is at least back in the Brentford training programme.

It should come as no surprise that Chelsea is willing to take a risk on him. He has scored 32 goals in 66 Premier League games while wearing the Brentford colours.

Chelsea is willing to defy that rule by signing a player in his mid-20s. But one has to see whether they can outbid Arsenal for his services.

Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson are the two fit strikers at Stamford Bridge. They are attempting to show that the Blues don’t need to spend a lot of money on a new attacker in the interim.
