Chelsea are reportedly refusing to allow Cesar Azpilicueta to leave for Barcelona. The Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is also not open to the idea of allowing him to leave.
The club now does not want to lose its top defensive targets. They have already lost the services of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers.

According to reports, the Spandraid wishes to leave the Premier League club this summer. Azpilicueta wants to move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window. However, the La Liga club is struggling to agree on a valuation with Chelsea. The report also adds that the defender has agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants. However, the clubs remain in dialogue over the fee.
Now, it looks like Chelsea are now ready to block the deal for their club captain. Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants the player to stay for one more season. They have already lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers. There is also a chance of Marcos Alonso leaving the club as well. Hence Tuche is refusing to sanction the sale on reduced terms.
CHELSEA DOES NOT WANT TO SELL ANY OF THEIR FIRST-TEAM DEFENDERS
According to reports, the Chelsea captain has asked the club to accept a cut-price deal with Barcelona. The La Liga club is struggling with financial issues once again this summer. The report also adds that Thomas Tuchel will not agree to the move at this stage. Tuchel in a conference said the club has to sometimes operate in the market according to their needs.
He said, “It’s a tough question because I am not sure if I want to give Azpi what he wants. At some point, it is about what we want. “I just made the comparison about how much we fought for Koulibaly, who is a national team player and roughly the same age. He is a hugely important player for Napoli but we have a Spanish international who is the captain at Chelsea.
Chelsea are reportedly also competing with Barca for Jules Kounde. Following losing a number of defenders, they have only signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli in defense. The club have already lost on moves for Matthijs De Ligt and Nathan Ake. However, the club are still looking to sign 2 more defenders.
